The perfect hotel for our stay in Valletta For our first wedding anniversary holiday to Malta we based ourselves at Domus Zamittello in Valletta, enticed by its central location and beautiful interior. The hotel surpassed our expectations and made our stay that much more memorable. We chose to stay in the Strada Reale suite as it was our anniversary (we normally go for a standard room in hotels). It's a lovely room with some extra living space and an additional bathroom. The height of the sleeping area is a bit low, so the suite may not work for you if you're tall, but it was fine for us. It's built this way because it's an original room of the palazzo, we were informed by the staff. Looking out onto Republic Street, it felt quite exclusive, like we were the original palazzo occupants! The hotel is on Republic Street, so there is some low level noise in the evening, but it's part of the area's vibe and has its advantages (like the terrace, read below). It's also still quieter than other streets like Merchants Street with its late night restaurants and bars. The staff were all extremely helpful. During our stay it was the Maltese Victory Day bank holiday, and our hotelier told us the best places to go to watch the public celebrations, which was a welcome touch. During breakfast, the hotel manager, Moul, comes round to check everything is fine with your stay and learn a bit about you and what brings you to Valletta. After mentioning one morning that we'd come for our anniversary, we were pleasantly surprised later that afternoon to find that bottle of bubbles had been left in our room for us to enjoy, which we took up to the hotel terrace and sipped alone as we looked out over the square. They also booked restaurants for us over the phone (we'd tried to book via email in advance, but par for the course these days, you don't get any reply), which made our time in Valletta much smoother as we weren't striving to get into well known places such as Nenu's. Their own restaurant recommendations like The Old Bakery were also great. Breakfast was excellent every day. The staff take your selection from the table and the food never took long to come. My wife and I often had the English Breakfast and Veggie Breakfast respectively, with pastries, bread and fruit salad to start. It was plenty to see you through the day with just a snack needed to top up at lunch. The hotel is situated just across the pedestrian bridge from the bus station, and since we were sightseeing every day it made going places easy. Our first day we walked around Valletta, and if we wanted to hop back to the hotel room to top up on water or grab something, it wasn't far away. As we ventured out to the rest of the island, we could normally get one bus anywhere (because so many of them start at Valletta) and be fairly sure of getting on (as they do get crowded). The hotel is also a few minutes walk from the lift that takes you down to the ferries to Gozo or Three Cities, if you don't want to do the walk down via Victoria Gate. The central location enabled us to do so much in our week holiday - staying in Sliema or elsewhere wouldn't have afforded us that. We had the perfect time at Domus Zamittello. I encourage anyone who wants to stay in Valletta to consider a room here.

Fabulous hotel, wonderful staff, great location Fabulous hotel, excellent location and wonderful staff who made us so welcome, in particular Moul the Hotel Manager, Maria and Sandra on Reception and Francesca in the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone greeted us with a smile. The room was kept impeccably clean, we loved the chocolate on the pillow every evening. The roof terrace was a delight and we enjoyed listening to a free concert taking place in the theatre next door. Can highly recommend this hotel!

Top hotel.

Most charming experience in Malta Hotel is awesome. Customer service is 1st class. Charm is off the charts. The GM, Moul Hajjar, went out of his way to find the best attractions for us and accompanied us around town. The hotel has a charming 1930’s architecture reminiscent of movies of the era. Definitely the place to stay.

From the warm welcome with a glass of Prosecco to the kind attention of all the friendly staff we were made to feel very special. Big thankyou to Francesco and all the restaurant staff, Maria on reception and chef Pablo Esposito for his delicious meals. We have to mention Moul, the Hotel manager who went over and above to make sure we had the most relaxing week under his care. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location, beautiful decor, quiet comfortable rooms - Domus Zamittello deserves 5 stars.
