The Role
We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead the Finance/Accounts function at Domus Zamittello and take ownership of financial operations across the group. This is a hands-on, role suited to someone who is equally comfortable managing a portfolio of company accounts, reviewing payroll, and getting into the detail of day-to-day bookkeeping.
The role is split approximately:
– 50% — Finance Manager for Domus Zamittello
– 50% — Accounts for three other small family-owned companies (Allegra Limited, Castello Zamittello, The Odin Line)
Key Responsibilities
**Leadership & Oversight**
- Manage and lead the Finance/Accounts for Domus Zamittello – 75% of role
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts, to be presented at the Monthly Management Accounts Meetings
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Present financial performance and insights to management
- Oversee and manage accounts across the group (Allegra Limited, Castello Zamittello, The Odin Line)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts
**Accounts Payable / Receivable**
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Manage payroll and prepare/review the final payroll report for authorisation, as well as monthly FS5 submissions
- Issue invoices as necessary
- Handle cash flow management and bank reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT/tax filings and statutory returns
- Data input of all financial activity records in the company’s accountancy software
**Controls & Compliance**
- Implement and monitor financial controls and expenditure policies
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax law, and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax authorities
- Maintain accurate financial records within the company’s accountancy software
**Operational & Advisory**
- Liaise with sea captains on cost issues and requirements (Odin Line)
- Prepare departmental operating budgets
- Provide financial advice and commercial insight to support business decisions
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiency and process improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Full ACCA qualification or equivalent financial degree
- 3–4 years’ experience, ideally within hospitality
- A pragmatic, hands-on, “can-do” attitude with the ability to work independently
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong working knowledge of local accounting laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
- Comfortable working across multiple entities and juggling competing priorities
