Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Purpose:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet the hotel’s high standards. This role includes supervising housekeeping staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, conducting inspections, and addressing guest concerns related to cleanliness and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and support housekeeping staff including room attendants, public area cleaners, and laundry personnel.
- Assign daily duties and inspect work to ensure standards of cleanliness and presentation are met.
- Maintain housekeeping supply inventories and ensure proper use of equipment and materials.
- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and report disciplinary or performance issues to management.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Coordinate with the front office and maintenance departments to ensure rooms are ready for guests and repairs are addressed.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing based on occupancy and operational needs.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and continuous training of housekeeping staff.
- Prepare and submit reports such as room status, maintenance requests, and inspection results.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a housekeeping supervisor or senior housekeeping staff, preferably in a hotel environment
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Good communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Working knowledge of housekeeping equipment and cleaning agents
- Flexible with shifts, including weekends and holidays
Education and Experience:
- Secondary education or equivalent required
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant housekeeping experience in hospitality
